I'm using Kinman "vintage broadcaster" pickups, and they are great! They are made in Australia - absolutely noiseless, and they have wicked sound. Check out the thier website at www.kinman.com

A Seymour Duncan Vintage Broadcaster is hard to beat in my book, and the price is right...

With all due respect - Kinman Pickups.

Tommy can make barb wire on a fence post sound great and I would take his suggestions to heart.

I haven't tried the SD's but I do own the Kinmans and have been very happy with their tone.

I'd like to try the new Brent Mason SD pickup too... I think its called 5-2. The low E and A have a larger magnet for a little more low end for snap, krackle and pop.

Actually, the 5-2 stands for the type of alnico magnets used. The brighter alnico 5 is used on strings 4,5+6 and the "less bright" alnico 2 is used on the top three strings. I've got a set with this configuration made by Lindy Fralin in my baritone tele, they're superb. I think Lindy Fralin and Jason Lollar make the finest pickups out there. Expensive, but after trying a lot of pickups in my teles, worth it.

A cheap way out, and good pickups, are the GFS pickups, sold on eBay and through the store, guitarfetish.com. I've bought a few of their pickups, and they sound good, don't cost much, and they come with good wiring instructions.

Agreed! I've had one for over 10 years.
Can't speak for the Kinman, never tried one, because the SD's sound is just right for what I need.

I have a SD Broadcaster in my main and no. 2 Teles, after much experimentation. If you like the old "blackguard" sound, this is the one.

BTW, the Fender MIM 50's Classic neck pickup is a great match, as well.

I think I'll go for the SD 5-2's. They been getting great reviews for a balanced tone. I'm having trouble with some strings being louder or softer than others on this Squire. Otherwise a decent guitar.

Seymour Duncan Nashville Studio.

EXACTLY what Brent Mason has in his Main '68 Tele.

I've had a Duncan "Hot Rails" in my bridge position for about 4 years now and couldn't be happier. It's a humbucker with two blades side by side and can be tapped and split. Mine is set up so I can use it like a humbucker or use either of the coils separately so you wind up with three sounds from one pickup. I'm adding one to my single pickup "Psuedo Esquire" as soon as it comes in.......JH in Va.
