Seriously, Russ Hicks is one of my favorite steel players, and a pretty good dude. But let's talk about Wayne Smith---MAN, what a bass player! As good as it gets! Somebody find out if he's gonna be there Saturday night, or is the moron gonna have to play bass? It's somebody else's turn to bring the moron---Charles says, "Steve, you got the moron?" And I say, "well, no..." and Charles looks at me funny for the rest of the weekend.

Food!

By the way, I STILL wanna do my dobro set----Anybody found me the tab for "Wabash Cannonball" yet?

Steve, Russ Hicks is one of Laney's sidemen. Just some guy in her band. I think she lets him come to these things just to get him out of the house.

I think he was the dude they name a town after somewhere in TN.But, you may be right he could be the one that follows the Goodlooking singer (Lani)from show to show.
I bet Brett would know for sure.

I couldn't remember which weekend it was, Wayne. BOY, we'll miss you! I guess I'll go get a can of vienners for the moron. It ain't right, I gotta bring the moron every time. He really gets on mine and everybody else's nerves :x :x .
Have a good gig, and we'll see you Sunday.

But "Russ and moron" just doesn't have the same ring as "Russ and Laney," does it?

Rick, you are a true friend, as well as a good Masonic brother. Are you coming? If not, could you send your fiddle? I can play the fiddle while the moron plays the bass.

Don't know if I'll come or not. I'm playing a lot of shows lately. I can send you the fiddle and pre-program it for Wabash Cannonball.

Steve:
Is this Saturday night Jam where you can switch out different musicians? Just wondered because I wouldn't mind doing a song or two on the bass, if your other bass player wouldn't mind.

Yeah, David, Saturday night's pretty much wide open, kinda like the space between the moron's ears. We generally have a good time, then head to the Huddle House to watch the moron do his pancake tricks...
