A friend has asked if I could find the words and music to the song "I wish I felt this way at home". Not sure if that's the exact title. Also, who was the artist that sang it. He thinks it's a Mel Tillis song. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

I know the song from an old Dolly Parton LP. I don't remember the words and it's packed away in a box somewhere so I can't help there...

Here's the words ...

Writer Harlan Howard
Copyright 1967

If I could be with you forever my restless heart would never want to roam
I've never been loved the way you loved me I wish I felt this way at home
When you kiss me it's words without speaking
And I don't believe that God would call this wrong
Your arms are the refuge I was seeking I wish I felt this way at home
But I don't and I won't we did all that we could
You and I we tried hard but it's just no good
I may never be free cause I've known no reason
And I don't expect for you to wait that long
But I'll say one more time as I'm leaving I wish I felt this way at home
Yes I wish I felt this way at home

Barry,
Yes, I think that's the right song. Another forum member has the words and chord and has offered to send them to me. Thanks to both of you, and I know my friend will also appreciate it very much.

Pete, Thanks for your post.

Dean, I believe the woman who sang with Reba is Linda Davis. She and Reba did a music video a few years ago where she stole Reba's man, so Reba blew up her boat. Thanks again for the help guys.

Thanks Walter. Doesn't get much better than that when it comes to traditional country music. The Wayne Kemp songs are great also. Again, a big Oklahoma thank you!!!
