Probably this has been discussed before, but does piped-in music annoy you as much as it does me? It's everywhere--offices, stores, outside shopping centers, even at the gas pump. And it's too loud! It's maddening. Why must we live with this noise pollution? Try asking that it be turned down or off. You will be looked at as if you had three heads.

Personally, maybe because I'm a musician, I find that I can't concentrate when the music is blaring AND PEOPLE ARE SCREAMING OVER THE LOUDSPEAKER. Why did I come to this store? What did I want? Can't think. Can't remember.

Now there are TVs in doctor offices and hospital waiting rooms. Great. Shoot me now.

Oh, please don't get me started. In my day job from hell they have Muzak, and the company Gestapo won't allow radios, and this lady needs the volume up...Muzak is making me hate saxophones because they take the melody to songs and redo it with cheesy sax, and, and,....AHHHHHHHH (only 4 more hours) Devil

Gary,I have a little tip for you at the gas pump. While filling up and that annoying speaker comes on full blast...the one that's attached to the pump I go over and get the squeegee that cleans windows and get it as wet as I can, then I douse the speaker with it,Last week it sounded at least two octaves lower,Stu

That's the reason I hate to go in a large record shop,Sounds like you are at a Snoop Dog concert.Instead of browsing like I used to,just get what I came for, then get the hell out.don't you know.

I've heard steel on some of these Muzak "tunes," and I know we all need money, and I probably wouldn't turn down the gig myself, but...for shame.
