I keep getting 4-5 emails a month from folks wanting to know who I recorded with. As previously the answer is no one. I came close in early 1950 when I was stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco and subbing around in different bands, mostly with Dude Martin and Sue Thompson. The night before we were to record in Oakland I believe, The hospital ship "Benevalence" (sp) collided with another ship just outside the GG bridge and south of Ft Point. My Co was Co A 701st MP Bn and along B co were put in small boats, 30ft, and taken to the site to pick up survivors. This lasted all nite and in to the next day. The next evening I called Dude and apoligized and he understood but had to hire another steel from the bay area to record. I can't remember the steel player nor the recording so there ended my chance at fame. CC |

No time like the present, CC, especially with all the inexpensive software available to do the job. If you don't have the stuff yourself, I bet you could hook up with someone who did. It would be a nice legacy for the steel guitar community, not to mention your family. |
