What a player! My buddy Tommy Butler took me to The Wheel on Broadway Friday night to watch none other than Terry Crisp. Tone and skill to die for. Then he played at the NTSGA Jam on Saturday. I got a double dose of why I wanted to learn to play steel this passed weekend, that's for sure. And what a great guy, He even let me help carry his amp! Razz

It was so good to hear some real country music. Thanks Terry!

Brett, I met Terry when I worked as a karaoke singer for a country radio station. I was doin' it for an occupational diploma so I could graduate from high school. I was singin' at a little club called the Dugout and Terry walked in and the karaoke guy said, "Hey Brett, after you do the next song, there's a steel guitar player who wants to talk to you. After the song, Terry and I talked about what steels we played, and everything.

It's just dawned on me,,,, I met Terry's wife Christy probably 15 or more years ago when we both played the bars and clubs around Northen Indiana. In fact if my memory serves me correctly we even shared the stage at a jam session or two back in the day and she's still the best singer I ever heard!

I was probably playing steel with her at that time. I was her steel player / music director in the early 90s when she was living in Niles, MI, down by the IN border. We opened for the Oaks, Eddie Rabbit, Mark Collie, etc. Played a lot of fairs in northern IN.

I hear she's upgraded the steel player position. Laughing
