I feel like the idiot that waited in the cab all the way through the movie AIRPLANE. Can anyone tell me if they were ever able to get their order from Musicians Friend since the warehouse mess and if so how long did you have to wait? I'm going on 18 days and it still has not been shipped and they have no idea when.

I just got hold of the guys in charge of the warehouse. they weren't very helpful but they did send me a picture.

I was glad to see by the picture that the guys in charge were on the job and getting it right. That looks like the guitar I ordered.

I've ordered twice in the past month and again thursday night. I've gotten the first two orders no problem and the thursday order shipped yesterday and is 'in route to San Pablo' so, so far so good. I know they've had a lot of consolidation problems....

Sure hope you get your stuff soon!

I've gone a while without ordering from Musicians Friend and was just considering buying something from them, but didn't know there were or had been recent problems. Sorry to be in the dark about this, but what is going on with them??

Thanks!

I ordered 12 sets of strings from MF & a week later one set arrived! I called a week ago & they said they'd make it right but I have received nothing & looks like I'm gonna have to call again.

I'm done with them.

Doug, I always like your comments and photos.
By the way, is that the Elvira that was on tv a few years ago hosting scary movies? If it is, she must have gotten married and let things go... Laughing

This is way off topic but seeing that Duck Pluckers photo got me to re-read the original Duck Plucker's thread here-

They had some shipping problems due to moving their warehouse to a different location (In Kansas City, MO). But, that seems to have settled down and they are back to their "normal" shipping.

BTW, if anyone is in Kansas City or nearby, it's worth a trip to their warehouse outlet store. They have new items and returns, blems, etc for sale. You can also order new items from their catalog and have the items in about 15 minutes. They will also "deal" on damaged and blem items. I just bought a Behringer acoustic guitar amp - the only thing I could see physically wrong was one knob was broken (and they had another amp there that I swapped the broken knob with a good one). We tried out the amp and nothing apparently wrong electronically. They want $179 for the amp in their catalog (and on line), they had a $149 price tag on it and I wound up getting the basically new amp for $90.

Hi Mike. This picture has been used a lot and it never gets old and I too would like to thank Doug for the original. Sorry Doug I didn't list you in the credits. The Duck Pluckers get blamed for everything but Elvira she's another story.
P.S. does anyone have the DP's concert schedule?

You need to shop around, the better deals are out there. It is a great thing that they offer a catalog, but that also cost them a dollar. Learn about your suppliers in your neck of the woods. You know you can become a dealer of products also, there are some deals with that, so consider that also. Look around, the deals are out there.

I had an order for an ART headphone amp and an OnStage amp stand (this stand is great, btw), and it took over a month to get them, due to their warehouse changeover. Called twice, very nice folks on the phone, but they said they could do nothing to expedite things. I wasn't too happy, but the goods are fine and the pricing was great as usual. Neither item was critically needed, thank goodness.

For you Southern California players, do check in with Mike Maddux at the Cerritos Sam Ash, he's been giving me and other SCSGA members great deals on stuff. He's around on the forum, just search by name and give him a crack at anything you need.

I waited 35 days for MF to ship me an SSH Squire Tele and after all that time they could not tell me when it might ship. I cancelled the order with MF and SWEETWATER had the guitar in my hands 3 days later, same price, same free shipping and a personal rep that I have now placed 2 additional orders with and received my gear in 2 or 3 days. bye bye MF!

When I lived out west and went into a music store the treated me like a somebody famous and I could take anything home and try it out and when something broke down on the job I could call and they would bring me what I needed. I didn't mind paying a little more to the local store. In Missouri I'm just a retail (if you ain't buying now I'll walk toward the door)customer and thats why I order most everything out of a catalog.

MF Update:

Similar experience to Mr. Stoner. I got some bored-sounding guy on the phone who checked the computer & said my ten sets of strings would ship in about 2 weeks & there is nothing he or I can do about it.

Backlog? Baloney!

Hey Bo, THANK YOU for starting this thread. I just managed to cancel an order that sat there for 5 days & hadn't started the billing process. Moved it to zzZounds. I've had no issues with them.
GOD bless SGF, b0b, & Uall!

I took a wild wild chance, and ordered a B-Stock shure wireless mic for my daughter from musicians friends. It was $80.00 off their already lowest price in the country. I crossed my fingers on this one guys. I don't ever buy B stock nuttin'. But this mic arrived in 3 days from order to door. Not a mark on it, not even a finger print. Even had the damn batteries. It just wasn't factory sealed. Shipped free, no tax, no smart mouth kid salesmen, or kids banging away on distorted guitars like the music stores around here...happy camper... Very Happy
