Reso maint

Just a quick question. I have recently seen some nice comments about the Beard Goldtone. Along with these comments was the recommendation to have it set up by the Beard shop. This leads me to believe that there are some critical steps in the assembly. Then I started to wonder, how much if any maintenance is required to keep things working right. Any input appreciated. Thanks ---- Jim

The difference between the Beard setup and the Gold Tone setup (according to what they say) is that Beard's employees are more experienced at doing the actual setup. I'm sure the fine folks at Beard Guitars could tell you more.

As far as regular maintenance, you probably won't need much. Once the guitar is set up, it just works. Change the strings when they sound bad; wipe down the instrument with a soft cloth after playing. Avoid temperature extremes.

Jim, as Brad said, "If it aint broke don't mess with it", but if feel the need to tinker ask your questions at <resoguit-l@elistas.com>. There are some very knowledgable folks over there that can offer guidance. Image Billy

Thanks for the info. I knew you needed to replace strings every once in a while. Just didn't know if there was any part inside that needed to be replaced as well.
