Hi- I'm a new PSG player and have been playing my E9 Excel for about half a year. One of my strings just broke and I'm overseas!

First- could anyone recommend strings for this guitar? Maybe someone plays the same instrument and has a preference?

Second - would anyone know where to order strings in Europe (I'm in Austria).

in the worst case, I'll just order from the States and wait it out.

Can you bring me back some Austrian PEZ dispensers? Thanks! Even if I have the dispensers, the Euro packaging is always cool and different. I'll pay you back, or deduct from a lesson, something easy.

Your Excell does not use any special strings.
Just go to a guitar music store in your country and buy single electric guitar strings by the gauges. Many stores in Europe CAN order PSG sets too (Ernie Ball and SIT, is what I used to use there many years ago) as some distributors DO carry them.
Finally, if you prefer, you can order from the many on-line sources in the US too... as long you don't oder tons of it at once, customs will likely not be a mayor problem.

or do this.Go to a music store and buy some separate D'Addario strings.I always have a couple in my case.
They will do just fine.

Okay - for the moment I cheated-
I found that second string (.018) of an extra set of strings for my Baritone guitar will replace the 5th string until I get a full set of E9 strings - like the 5th string in a set of E9 tension balanced George L's.

John- I'm a moron! It was the 5th string, not the third (though the state my strings are in, I expect that'll go next) Band is okay - looking forward to recording some murder ballad demos soon...

GHS Saiten sind im EU Raum leicht erhältlich. Auch Boomer. Beide Firmen, sowie auch SIT bieten Sets für E9 und C6 PSG an. Die meisten Läden mögen diese vielleicht nicht auf Lager haben, aber bestellen können die sie zumeist vom Großhändler schon.
Es ist ratsam auch einige 0.011 Saiten einzeln zu kaufen und auf Lager zu halten, die gehen oft kaputt. Dies können irgend welche Elektro Gitarren Saiten sein, wie Fender, Gibson, Ernie Ball... was immer erhältlich... gibt es in jedem Gitarren Laden.
Wie gesagt, Pedal Steel Gitarren verwenden keine speziellen Saiten, sondern normale Elektro Gitarren Stahl Saiten.

As a fellow Excel player I recommend that you use Jagwire strings especially if you are playing the long scale keyless version (25.5"). Anyhow you should never leave the house without 2 full sets of strings and a dozen of each of the ones that might break more often (1st-5th). My Excel Superb never really breaks strings but I'd never take the chance of being anywhere without plenty of extra strings.

I thought I should inform some of my fellow forumites that your keyboards are broken.
