Thanks Eddie. I was just curious. I had the strangest dream night before last that one of my buddies in Nashville called and said Tracy wanted to audition me for the steel spot. I got so nervous, It woke me up. LOL

Loren is one of the greats that people never get a chance to hear. A brilliant guitarist also. He also recorded an album many years ago when in high school in Wisconsin featuring him on tuba called "Country-My Way." It's long out of print, but had a killer version of his rendition of Merle Haggard's tune "The Warden." I was shocked at his double reed technique.

Eddie, You're too kind. Jim, your dream makes me nervous too. Wally, what do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back? A Stick!

Loren is a great player. The thing I appreciate the most about Loren's steel playin' is his creativity. Everytime he comes over here to my shop he plays me something new he has come up on his own that really makes me take note.

Good guy...I'm proud to call him "friend."

I neglected to mention on my previous post that Loren is also an author. He has a motivational/self help book. It's called "Now is the Time to Stop Second Guessing Yourself. Or Is It?" Another that he has out is called "Confusion. And How to Cope with Restaurant Menus."

Hey Brothers & Sisters, it sure would be great to see The Academy Of Country Music Board of Directors give " Loren Nelson " a chance at being a Nominee for Steel Guitarist of the year in 2008. In my book (Leo)he's right up there with Jay Dee Maness & Paul Franklin. You won't hear him play like he can with Tracy Lawrence! Myself & Dean Lane are behind this support in making it happen. Leo J.Eiffert,Jr.PS I know he's not Bucky Covington!

First I'm outed as a Tuba player, then the "Master of Confusion" (I don't think I can argue that one) but, Steel Guitarist of the Year?! Now you've gone too far!

Based on having played on the most top ten albums in a 12 month period, the current and reigning Steel Guitarist of the Year is Dan Dugmore.

Congrats!

I am vying for Steel Guitar OWNER of the YEar having purchased an eleven year old Emmons LeGrande III which will soon be on the work bench of Dave's Steel Guitar Shop. Dave Robbins is a Pro at repairing them, restoring them and getting them to play like a finely tuned machine. (He can play the fire out of one too!)

When Dave gets done with this Steel it's going to be as pretty as Wally Davis' new Zum! We're going to polish the knees and aluminum and give it some Bling, Yo!!!

Solid White,
OUT.

P.S. Shout out to Dean "you've got a friend in California" Lane and Jay Dee. Love 'ya guys!
