Anybody know what Tim Scheerhorn is doing these days?
Is he still making guitars and have a 4 year waiting list? Is he still in Dixon, TN? |

The last word I heard was there's a five year waiting and the cost is $6000. That's a long time to wait. Tim made me one 12 years ago and I thought 16 months was a long time to wait. |

Just spoke with Tim.
He is still four years out and has stopped taking orders. He'll be 64 when he builds his last obligation.
Says he will continue after that but on his own pace. When and what he wants to build.

The interesting question would be how many guitars he builds in a year? Anyone know? _________________ Tribo-Toneā¢ Bars |

Eric,
His schedule use to be three per month.
Elderly Music gets one per month. Not sure if that's included in the above three.

Elderly is no longer taking reservations, for the time being if you want a Scheerhorn you have to pay what a seller wants on the used market, which looks to be about $5000 for an R body and $8000 for an L body. Ouch. |

It was posted on resoguit-l today that Tim will not be taking any additional orders even after he completes the current backlog. |

Michael,
I like what you said.
I'm sure glad I kept two of the L-bodies. I wish I had the other one back now. |

Jim, that gorgeous quilted maple L body Scheerhorn on Ebay went for $7600. Now NO ONE who has a L body Scheerhorn he is thinking of selling is going to sell for less than $7500. Your nest egg is looking pretty good.
Every serious reso player would like to own one already. If the serious guitar collectors, who up to now have not really been that interested in resos, take note of what is happening with Scheerhorn prices and decide they HAVE to have one and start bidding prices up, watch out. |
