Whoever expected to see him playing in Honolulu later this week would be disappointed because Jeff was in Japan. He joined in a hawaiian all star troop very much like the one which assaulted Carnegie Hall last December. His name is already well known among steel enthusiasts here and at least two dozen of them were at the concert at big Minato-Mirai Hall in Yokohama. Jeff played Magnatone D8 tuned to C6+7 and B11 and charmed us with very tasteful mellow tone. Folks, he is only 25! and he has Da Sound. Nina Kealiiwahamana and Gary Aiko seemed happy with Jeff's back up job. We all here are very much looking forward to his next visit to Japan.
