Personally, I prefer to have a 6th on the high end and a 7th on the low end. I would pull that low 6 up to a 7 and tune the second string from 5 up to 6 when you want that sound. this would be the more traditional way to set that up, anyways.
But weren't rules made to be broken? Try putting the 6th in a couple different places using those same string gauges.

| I put the sixth in the same spot on my 6 and my 8. I find it useful when I need a more major sound. I can stay away from the sixth easier. |
