Hi all! To put it simply, but very plainly, a great time was had by all. I'm already thinking about next year. Bobby and Linda, we love you too, and it would not be a show without you. I pray that we all have a very healthy and safe year.

I MUST AGREE! THIS WAS PROBABLY THE BEST ONE I HAVE ATTENDED. IT ALSO WAS MY FIRST TIME TO PLAY THE TALENT SHOW, AND TO ARRIVE AT THE CONVENTION SO EARLY IN THE WEEKEND. I NEVER REALIZED THERE WAS SO MUCH HAPPENING ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY MORNINGS. THIS YEAR WAS 20 YEARS SINCE MY FIRST VISIT TO THE ISGC. EVEN WITH ALOT OF MY FAVORITE PLAYERS PASSING AWAY, THERE IS SOME NEW TALENT COMING UP THAT IS JUST GREAT.

SOME OF MY HIGHLIGHTS WERE:
GETTING TO SEE RUSS HICKS AGAIN, HE HAS REALLY BEEN ENCOURAGING TO ME AS A PLAYER AND FRIEND. AND JUST A GREAT GUY TO BE AROUND. THANKS RUSS Exclamation

THE JAZZ ROOM WAS AWESOME.

MIKE JOHNSON WAS A NICE ADDITION THIS YEAR, I HATE THAT I MISSED HOM IN THE PEAVY ROOM.

THE BAND IN THE HALL DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ALL WEEKEND, AND FOR THE GUYS THAT PLAYED WITH ME ON THE TALENT SHOW, SUPERB! IT WAS SO EASY EVEN ON THE BIG STAGE TO LAY BACK AND RELAX WITH THESE GUYS. THANKS DON CURTIS, ROY ROSETTA, JIMMY QUEEN, LEONARD T. ZINN, AND JOHN FARRELL! AND TO STONEY FOR ORAGNIZING THIS.

THE HALL OF FAME SHOW WAS JUST PACKED WITH EXCITEMENT.

Bobby, this show would not be the successful show it is without you. What a great talent amd a most gracious host and band director you are for all of us. Thanks to Scotty, his family and staff for making it possible for me to be there to enjoy all the talents and friendship-and especially from you, Bobby.
And it warmed my heart for the wonderful support you gave to my friend Ed Clark. Thanks. There is a special place in HEAVEN waiting for you. Wish I could visit with you then too...a long time from now though, as we all need to hear your heavenly playing here on earth for a long time to come.

I must say that I forgot to say how much I enjoyed my dear friend Gregg Galbraith with Buddy and Pual at theISGC. What great solos he plays. And also it was nice to see my old friend Gary Adams with Doug. He has come back from a terrible accident and is playing great. What a reunion we have each year with old friends. Just great. Bobby

Barbara and I just got home about an hour ago from St. Louis and I'd like to echo every thing, my brother, Bobby talked about. The show, fellowship with old friends and making new friends from all over the world was tremendous.
Our thanks to Scotty, Mary and family for another great show and weekend in St. Louis.

We had a GREAT time at the Show. We heard a lot of good players and the backup band was WONDERFUL. It's always good to see Roy and Bobby, but it was extra nice to see Paul on the drums. Thanks for the great job you did with Jerry and Austin. Don't know the bass and fiddle players names, but thank you also.

Thanks to the Scott Family for all the hard work that goes into this show. Hope to be there next year!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all of you who visited the Peavey Demo Room this year. If you missed David Wright, Terry Bethel, Carco Clave', Joe Wright, Randy Beavers or Tommy Dodd in our booth, you missed a great performance.

My trip to St. Louis is usually about 20 hours (one way) - but enjoying the great music is definitely worth those long and boring flights. So much talent and musicianship, more than the law allows... Smile

Can't wait to be back next year!!!!

Thanks to all you great steel players and the amazing staff band musicians!!!!

Best Regards, Walter

Laurie, you forgot to tell them what Tim (our son-in-law) said when we got home. He said, "Roy, that's the best I have ever heard you play." I answered, "Yeah, well that's the first time you've heard me play when I was backed up by a group of outstanding, world class professionals."

Thank you Bobby and the band, for making me sound better than I am.

Bobby,

I've just returned home from St Louis - Barbara and I took a few days to drive back to JFK to show my grandson, Jack, the amazing New York City.

We all had a great time at the Convention and Jack was so taken with your kindness to him - and then giving him your pick as we were leaving the hotel! He was speechless!

I'd like to thank Scotty and Mary for inviting me this year - it's such a pleasure and privilege to be even a very small part of this tremendous show. Thanks to the whole Scott family and staff for all their hard work and friendliness.

My friends Ric Boyer, Don Curtis, Roy Rosetta, David Russell and yourself supported me so well (as usual!) – I really appreciate working with such experienced and talented musicians.

Barbara and I thought it was wonderful to spend time chatting to all the good friends we have made over the years at the Convention. We were particularly pleased to see and hear Buddy, Paul, Doug, Russ, Herby, Herb, Larry and Joe - all of whom had made the long, trans-Atlantic trip to play at my Festival in England (some of them more than once!), between 1984 and 2004.

Thanks to all of you who continue to support this awesome event.

Mary and I, our kids, and our staff appreciate all the nice comments given to us. When putting the Convention together I used to say, "Its a piece of cake". And it still is. I did notice the huge amount of time it took this year we all put into pulling it together but Mary tells me that nothing has changed. I'm just now noticing it. Wow.

I do not put the program together to try to outdo last years convention. I just put it together and let it go on it's on merits. Those of you that were in attendance might have noticed that Stoney did 80 to 90% of the MC work this year. My time on stage was limited. Next year we have added Rob Parker as an MC so my time my be even less spent of stage. My sons and their helpers did all of the loading and unloading the trucks and Don Curtis helped set up the our booths. That left me free to spend my time doing PR with the players and the distributors making sure that they are happy and get all the courteousness they deserve. My plans are to start the Convention at the hour we used to have...start at 6:30 pm on Friday evening. I hope that I can stand fast on that and keep the hours down so we don't wear everyone out.

All the extra activities that go on during the Convention that give me thanks for allowing them to do it...that should be reversed. I want to thank them for added so much more prestige to the Convention by giving us more variety for the attendees. Mike Brown with Peavey, Leonard T. Zinn for the Hawaiian show and Jim Stahlhut for Jazz concert and of course, all the display rooms that allow various players to join them and perform. Is is I owe them a vote of thanks!

All the things that were said about the back up band were all correct. They have been totally dedicated to me and the Convention for many years now. And we welcome Paul Polish and Rob Parker as part of the Convention and hopefully they will be with us for a long time too. Bobby has been with me for all 36 Convention and many steel shows prior to it... Starting with first show in 1968! For several years we had a steel show once a month.

You may not have known it but we almost lost Bobby this year as our guitarist and band leader. He had an operation on the thumb of his right hand and if he would be able to play at all it would have been on a limited basis. In fact, there were at least 4 or more guitar players that were volunteered to step in and help him this year but as we all know they were not needed. I'll say it once again, Bobby Caldwell is my all time favorite guitar player and I value his friendship most highly. See you next year in St. Louis at what is known as a "Steel Guitar Paradise" - The International Steel Guitar Convention. Scotty

Scotty,
I wish to thank you for the confidence, and the faith afforded me, by being selected for this job.I am very humbled by this decision.
I will do my best to contribute, and help make the show continue to be the great show it has been for all these years.
I appreciate the consideration, and it will be a pleasure to continue to work with all these great artists, and the myriad of talent that perform, and the staff of the ISGC..
Again my thanks to all of you for your support and positive comments.
And to you Paul and Dee, I'm glad to see you on staff here at the convention, and as Scotty stated, I hope for a long time. You're a talent and I always enjoy working with you...
Peace to you all,
