How many of you out their wish all the VHS tapes you have were in DVD format. It seems such a hassle to
rewind every time you wish to go over a part or lick.
I think we need all the instructional material in DVD
format..after all the CD has replaced the cassette tape and that made things a bunch easy'r..
You can transfer all VHS into a computer and then burn them down to DVD .. That takes hours to do.
What say ye all.

Well, I think the horse is already out of the barn on this. But even just a few years ago, it was reversed.

It's not that much trouble to convert VHS to DVD - there are dedicated machines you can just put the VHS in and record directly to DVD. It doesn't take any longer than running the VHS tape all the way through. There was a thread a while ago on this: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=99620

Yea, I used to record on PC and then to DVD but those days are gone for me!

I bought a $50 DVD recorder from WalMart and like said above, just start VHS & record to DVD. Much easier than on PC!!

What do you do about copy-protected VCR tapes? I've had a few that won't allow copying and come out scrambled.

I have a couple of home videos of my playing mostly on a Super-Pro D10 while spending the winter in Florida, and some of the space shots in Cocoa Beach, etc. that I would like to transfer to DVD.

Can you just name or number tracks, so you can access them directly on DVD like on a CD, anyone?....al.SmileSmile
