My Tele had a terrible buzz every time I'd turn up the volume. I tried different Amp's, unhooked my pedals ,nothing helped. Another Tele player had the same problem. None of the Steels had a problem.Whats wrong and how do I fix it.

If the other Tele player was hooked into the same amp, using the same cord etc., I'd start there. If neither Tele buzzes in a different room or on a power different line, then I'd look at the room. Try unplugging all the florescent lights (beer signs?), any transformers, power supplies for stompboxes or telephones etc. An easy thing to do would be borrow a guitar with a humbucking pickup and plug it into the rigs you guys are using - if it doesn't buzz, and you're determined to play a Telecaster in that particular room, you might have to change pickups to a dual-coil model that fits in a Tele slot, like these:
Duncan Vintage Rails
There's a whole bunch of different hum-reducing pickups out now, if you wire them with the coils parallel they can still be pretty bright-sounding.

My SSH Squier has Duncan Designed stacked pickups. NO buzz. Just a very slight loss of "dynamics" from say my G&L, or my favorite Red Chinese Squier, with NO Buzz, which in most clubs is horriffic. DD is the lower end, and I don't know where you get them.

Duncan has the Premium Vintage Stack on their site. (Check the endorsing artists..) Maybe a little spendy, but hey..

Extensive shielding.I shield every thing, also shielded wire on all the inputs on the amp.May not eliminate the noise, but it cuts it down.My Tele is the only guitar I have that has single coil pups and it's very quiet.Works for me. PJ

I really hate to change the bridge P/U its an original old Tele P/U from the early 60s. I think it was the light reastat. Its just funny it didn't bother any thing but the Tele's and yes the other Tele was in a different amp.
