I want to let everyone know that I had a problem with my Hilton pedal, I set it to Keith, he fixed and sent it back with no charge. What great service. If you want more sustane out of your steel, and up the neck, get your self a Hilton pedal. It works for me. Billy

When it comes to standing behind your product it don't get no better then this. As far as his pedals the same gose. Best pedals in the world.

I have on great product.

I am lusting for a Hilton pedal. I have a few questions, though. Everyone says that they are great because they don't color the sound, and the tone doesn't change as the volume changes.

Is this not the case when I run my steel through a matchbox, and then into a pot pedal? I get no change in tone with volume, and it sounds exactly the same as if I plugged directly into the amp.

Another thing- do the Hilton pedals stay at the same setting when you remove your foot, or do they drift up or down?

Lynn, mine has a spring that brings it back to the off position, which I am not really very fond of because I am a two foot pedal player, and when I take my foot off to play a pedal the volume goes down. Otherwise it is a great VP, love it.

I have an early version Hilton pedal that I've been using in a smokey old club for about 5 years with no problems. Also have another for practice/spare. They are great ! The tension to keep it in place is adjustable I believe. Keith can help you with that.

Last week I thought I'd isolated a problem to my Hilton pedal, almost 3 years old. I sent an e-mail to Keith to ask if I could send it to him. He answered within hours.

He said sure, but before you do, I had exactly the same symptoms as yours and it turned out to be a grounding problem in a cable, so check and make sure that's not it.

I did. It was.

The forum comes through again. I have my Hilton pedal adjusted, now it is a "dream pedal". It stays where I put it, and sounds just as good. Thanks guys for the advice and to Keith for building a great pedal.

Thanks Keith for a great pedal, I've had no problems with mine, no change in sound and clean all the way up the neck, sustain is the best I've ever had. This is all well and good, and the hilton pedals are excellent, and I know Keith is a great guy and stands behind his work- but nobody has addressed my question.

If you run a steel through a goodrich matchbox and a standard pot pedal, then compare the sound to a Hilton pedal (without the matchbox), I suspect nobody could tell the difference in a double blind test.

Actually, a firend just got a Hilton, so as soon as he brings it over, I'll do that test.

Lynn, you are absooutely correct. That is what a Matchbox is supposed to do, get rid of the tonal change, and help keep the power consistant from your pickup.

I went to a Hilton because it irks me no end to pay $26 and up for a dollar and a half pot that might last 3 months before it started scratching again. That is about what the linear taper pots sell for. Too bad they can not be used in a volume control pedal.
