Wow. Great band. Danny still looks the same as he did when I first met him. He was 16 years old. He was great then and he's even grater now.

Thanks for posting the link Richard. I went and saw Danny last night. I never get tired of hearing him play. He's playing a Fessenden now.

Anyone know the current whereabouts of Danny's brother Les?

Yeah, Danny still sounds wonderful to this day (and pretty much looks exactly the same as in '84...I do too but only in my head). Jeff is now a full-time writer/musician in Nashville following having his own band here in AZ as well as being Glen Campbell's bandleader for something like 17-years. He's a great talent.
I met Danny on a trip to Phoenix in the late 70's or early 80's at the prompting of his brother Les who was living in Nashville at the time. Danny was playing an axe (Sierra I think) with two rows of floor pedals. I didn't understand it but he played great and has been a good friend ever since.

danny was a fleeting legend to me and some friends who knew of him in calgary and reno...never realized he played such a large steel guitar!

The Sneedster is a total monstrosity*, of course. Is he still with Pat James at the Buffalo Chip in Cave
Creek?

I remember that guitar with the double rows of pedals. It had a BradRack, as I recall, and looked totally overwhelming but he was amazing on it. (I also remain grateful, Miguel, all these years later for your having finessed my thoroughly underage self in to Mr. Lucky's to meet and hear him. It was '74 I think, and you were out with Nat Stuckey.)

Sonny:
Danny does have a brother named Donny, but I con't think they're twins. Donny is a fantastic musician also. Plays drums, Fiddle, Accordian, that I know of.

Actually there are 3 brothers. Their father used to run a booking agency out of Twin Falls Idaho. I used to play in a band out of Portland, Oregon and we were booked by Mr. Sneed. The whole band used to stay at their house in Twin Falls. Mrs. Sneed was a great cook and fed us some great meals.

I worked next door to Danny last night and walked over on break to hang a bit. As usual, Danny sounded wonderful. It still amazes me how he gets the stuff he does with that tuning and backwards pedal thang (well...backwards to me).
For anyone coming to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, you really should make time to go see him at the Buffalo Chip in Cave Creek. You can get right up close to his side of the stage (and he's used to having fans like me doing just that).
