I cannot get Chet's sound out of my mind these days.
His guitar keeps talking to me. Smile
I use the back neck of my Carter for this and it is a no pedal arrangement. The tuning is E nine six.
As I keep experimenting with this Fingerstyle
approach new ideas come into play in order to emulate
the sounds of the standard guitar. Note the bridge of this instrumental and you will see what I mean.
The picking is done with the thumb on the treble strings and the bar vibrato changes to
copy the Bigsby Tail Peice that Chet used to use.

That was very nice Roy. You got the feel of Chet for sure.

It's kind of funny that no matter what record you listen to you can always spot Chet's style. then you look on the liner notes and there he is. There was an article a while back that said he would be producing a record and the guitar player would not get it right. He would walk in play it and hand the guitar back to him. I guess that is how he ended on so many recordings.

Thanks Gary and that's a good little story
about Chet. Not everybody could get away with
that but Chet was so well respected he
was an exception. Smile

If I hadn't known that was steel, I would have assumed it was fingerstyle. Cool

Very, very good. I have always loved Chet and you did an excellent rendition on steel.
