I've been going through my old cassette collection and found some recordings with Red Moser and Dwight Harris. Red shared these recordings with me in the l970s, and they really helped get me inspired about the non-pedal steel guitar. Does anyone recognize these names or have any information about these two musicians?

I met Dwight in 1980 and had him over to my apartment to play. He was a great player. He moved to Florida that year and I lost touch with him.

Dwight Harris was a very good friend and fan of Jerry's. They became acquainted when Jerry was in Detroit. His snail mail address is: 7679 Hollyridge Circle

Dwight was from the detroit area and used to play with Casey Clark over WJR I believe. Dwight moved to FL sometime back sold his rig and played bass for Sam Gillotti, a fdine "madman" steeler. Red was a singer and rhythm player. He lived in Southgate MI I believe. Red and I tape coresponded for yrs and I heard Red died some time ago. Two of the best prople you will ever run across. Do you have the tape of Dwight and Eddy? I have 34 live tapes of Dwight. If you turn your back to them, Jewrry and Dwight sound just alike. He is one of the players Jerry loved to hear play. CC

Dwight was one of the finest steel players I ever had the privilage to meet and befriend. I jammed with him when I was in Ft. Lauderdale and he blew my socks off! Great guy. I have lost track of him since he sold all his gear and quit playing, much to the loss of the steel guitar world. He simply quit and "went fishing" with his son who was a helicopter pilot as I recall.

Red Moser had an "Arthur Godfrey" quality to his voice. He never claimed to be a steel player per se although he loved Hawaiian music and the steel guitar. He owned a great collection of vintage steels which he later sold. Red did well on r/guitar. He lived in a small town called CALLANDER which I think is in MI. Red's wife, (Doris) excelled in ceramics prior to her death. Last I heard, Red passed away as a result of Alzheimer disease. I too, received many tapes from Dwight, (a lot of them with Eddie Reeves playing excellent piano). Red sent me many tapes also. He often played with Norm Koons who was a steeler and a lady, I think her name was Agnes Nance (?) on ukulele as I recall. Not sure where Norm is today or if he is still with us. I had a long friendship with Red until his illness so many years ago. Many happy memories !!!
