Wechter / Scheerhorn Weissenborn?

Post by Yann Obergfell »

Hi,

I was browsing that site and I could see many shots of Tim Scheerhorn's shop. However, there is a picture of a Weissenborn-style guitar, and the pic caption reads: Wechter/Scheerhorn prototype. http://www.bluegrassnotes.com/wst_page4.html

I wondered if these are going to come out? Or is it an aborted project?
If they do come out, I'm certainly going to get one of those...

Yeah, some pictures are breathtaking, especially the Scheerhorns, which seem to be worth every penny!

Maybe one day I'll afford one...

I finally got a Scheerhorn, (3yr wait) and worth every penny. When I step up to the mike, that great Scheerhorn sound takes over, and in the studio it is awesome sounding. Wouldn't trade it for any brand.

Yann-if you think you can afford one in four years-you can get on the list now.

I think that is about how long it is on the current waiting list.

I've emailed Tim about that. I haven't got any reply yet. I think I'll be able to afford it in four years. If I don't, I'll take a loan, I'll mortgage my wife, sell my children... well, maybe not. I'll first have to get married and have kids. Image

Can someone share his experience of getting on the list? How did things happen? Thanks

Yann: Try Elderly Instruments. You may get it faster through them.

Randy is correct. As far as I know, Tim is still in an agreement with Elderly to produce one instrument per month. Raoul is the contact name at Elderly. You can still talk to Tim about details, etc even if your order is thru Elderly. The thing to do would be to call both of them to find out which availability date is earlier.
