I want to install an electret condenser mic in an acoustic guitar. Could someone point me to a schematic, or simple instructions on how to wire this? I will power the mic with batteries inside the guitar. I want to use a stereo jack with a mono plug to turn the power on & off, and don't know how to do this.

If you have an effects pedal, look at the wiring on the jack. Most pedals turn off and on when the lead cable is plugged into the unit.

Thank you Curtis. My Danelectro Tuna Melt tremolo has enclosed connectors that are hidden beneath the PCB. So, I took my JEN Cry Baby apart, and I believe I see the answer. Negative from the battery connects to ring of the stereo receptacle. Ground of the stereo receptacle goes to ground. The mono plug completes the circuit. I will try that wiring in my bread board.
