Heard Roger Miller's tune "Lock Stock and Teardrops (I'll be gone)" on XM-13 the other night.
Who did the "talking" steel? It sounded real purty...

Pete Drake of course.

love that tune.
it amazes me that he got to sing a whole verse. shows you just how popular that sound was at the time.

but what exactly does he say??? I've never been able to figure it out:

Someday I'll find myself another town,
???? ? ????? ???? ??????? ????
to let my sorrows drown...

anyone know?
