I have the Gibson Ultratone that at the time (50's) was cinsidered top of the line. The Ultratone has a mahogany body and gold top finish of the Les Paul of the same period.
To me the guitar has a wonderful tone. Also I think the guitar sounds better on a stand rather than on my lap. My guitar came with a Gibsonette amplifier 4 tubes and a Jensen 10 inch (field coil) speaker, which I use with the guitar.
Keep on pikin
Alvin

In one previous thread we were discussing why the Gibson steel guitars were scarce in Hawaii and few Hawaiians played them.

Well, now we know why.

They were all in Richard's Gibson trophy room.

Aloha,
Don
