I received the flyer for the local county fair and The Bellamy Brothers are one of the acts this year. The picture in the flyer show someone playing an Emmons but I can't make out who it is. Are they touring with a steel player? They will be here at the Athens County Fair in Athens, Ohio on August 7, 2007 for one show at 8PM. Admission for the fair is $7 and I always say its a heck of a deal if you can stand the dirt, dust and food. Very Happy

One of my all time favorite steel bearing tunes is "If I said you had a beautiful body...?".

Was that Danny Jones that died? He lived over around Auburndale or Winter Haven, FL and used to deal at the same steel shop where I hung out a lot in lakeland in the early 80's - Bill Payne Music. Bill used to work on his PP Emmons when he came in off the road with the brothers. Danny toured with them a long while and was on their early records (like Sugar Daddy, You Ain't Just Whistling Dixie, and others). I never got to meet him in person, but sure did like his playing.

Yes, it was Danny Jones.

He succumbed to sleep apnea.
