Dear folks,
I recently saw someone carrying his Dobro in a hard shell case that in turn was inside a big gig bag (made for this purpose) that meant he could casually carry his hard shell case protected instrument on his back.
The OHSC of my 1937 New Yorker is funtioning fine, but I don't want to damage it, and I feel a bit wary of carrying the case by the 70-year-old handle for fear it might break and the guitar drop.
So, I am thinking of getting a suitable carrying case that I can stick the New Yorker's case in, and carry it on my back or over my shoulder without worries. Has anyone got a suggestion for a case that may fit the bill? Below is a pic of the case. It measures roughly 35" x 9" x 3 3/4".
Many thanks,
Fred

Fred, why don't you try Small Dog Case Covers:
www.smalldogcasecovers.com
The website seems to be going through some upgrading, so there aren't much in the way of photos to look at, but they have a quality reputation.
You can actually do a tracing, and they can custom build a cover for your National case. _________________ Mark |

I'd suggest you go to eBay, page 2 under steel guitar........and look for the D2F logo, about 3/4's of the way down on the page or simply look for D2F on Google or whatever.
This guy makes super quality "covers" and has 100% satisfaction with his eBay sales.
He might fix you right up.
He's here on the Forum also..... I've had a mental block and his name escapes me and for this I should receive a 100 lashes with a blue thumb pick! |

Just wanted to post what I ended up buying in the end, as others may find this useful. The case cover companies recommended seemed very good, but as I had to get something sooner than the time a custom case cover would take to produce and send from the US, I ended up with this:
CASE FOR LAP STEEL/BARITONE UKULELE
It only cost me £23 including delivery and the New Yorker case fits inside it very well, with some room to spare in the "lower bout".
Cheers,
