So, just a year after buying my first steel, a Carter Starter, I sold it last night to a friendly young man who lives in town came. He's a bass player in a local rockabilly-ish band, and was really excited to get his first steel. He never thought he'd find an affordable one locally, but the day he decided he wanted one, he found mine on the local musician's message board. It felt so good to sell it knowing another local musician's got the bug!

Congrats, Marc. I hope you sold it because you bought a better one. _________________ Best regards,

Right. It would be wise to mention that I bought a Sho~Bud Pro 1 about a month ago. I'm very happy about that too! |

ALRIGHT!! Another GAS junky!!
Always nice to see another addict join the club!
That was a smart move, though. Very good choice, Marc. _________________ Best regards,

GAS, I like that Mike.....BUT what happens when you run up against the dillema of buying a new steel and not wanting to sell the other, but should sell it (I told the wife that I would sell it so I could get the new)?

Ahhhh....that's the catch, David! I recently sold a gorgeous Dekley U12, in order to pay for an MCI U12, only to find out after the sale that the wife LOVED the Dekley and wanted me to keep it!!! I COULD HAVE OWNED BOTH OF THEM!!!!! ARrrrrgggghhhh!!! We had discussed it a lot previously, but she couldn't explain why she didn't speak up sooner!
How's THAT for a heartbreaking turn of events!!!
Anyway, GAS is an addiction, which, like any addiction, will eventually put you in a trap...do I keep this fantastic steel, or sell it and buy this other fantastic steel, or sell the house and have them both!!!! Decisions, decisions!
Been there many times, David, and have never found a solution other than becoming very, very, rich! Cause I'd have to buy a huge home to house all the gear I'd buy!!!! _________________ Best regards,
