This is a track taken from his "Hawaii Forever" recording. I really like this recording a lot and wish I had more info about it. I posted a link in another thread, but it is worthy of its own:

Mike, all I know is that the cassette is dated 1972, was done with pedals, and the other personnel are unknown. I forget the name of the company that put it out, but recall that I'd never heard of the outfit and that it gave no clue as to who was behind it. So it was probably a one-off.
The guitar player has been speculated as Roy Lanham, but that's all it is-----speculation.
Here is a track list I have seen:

Unfortunately, my copy of the cassette has no "J-Card" and so I have no first hand knowledge of the assigned titles.
The above track list has been posted on this forum before and someone said that the titles were all known Hawaiian standards or semi-standards (as opposed to original compositions), although I personally don't recognize any of the titles (except maybe "Pikaki").
b0b Lee has a copy of it (via Tom Bradshaw I think) but I don't know if he has commented about possibly releasing it through the forum. |

I borrowed Tom Bradshaw's copy of this cassette in the mid 1970s and as I recall the cassette was made by the CASTLE CASSETTE CO. in Los Angeles.

Wow, thanks so much, Gerry. This is such a pleasant surprise. I really love Joaquin's style of playing right around this time period.
