I am looking to purchase a Sony PG14/PG30 Wireless Headset System to be used for vocals at small venues. This system includes PG4 Diversity Receiver, PG1 Bodypack Transmitter, and PG30TQG Headset Condenser for aerobic and spoken word application. The price is $400. Is anyone familiar with this unit or what would you recommend without having to sell the farm.

Thanks in advance.

Joe if you only play steel, wireless is probably a bit over the top. I use a AKG headset with a phantom power unit which I just attach to the side of my rack with Duct tape. But of course if you double on other instruments wireless would be the way to go. Can't help you with pricing but a headset for a steel player is definitely the way to go.

Paddy
The mic is for my partner. She tends to move a lot while singing so she is not always directly in front of the mic, so her voice fades in and out. I figured a wireless headset might cure the problem.

Thanks
Joe
