John Hughey plays on Wednesday night with Mike Siler and the Short Notice band at Legends. That's on the corner of 5th and Broadway, just a short walk from the Ryman ( The Old Opry) They play from 7PM until 10:15. Great country band, with twin fiddles, Billy Johnson on guitar, Rick Vanaugh on drums.

On 4 th of July evey year Manny Escobar and his brother have a large 4th of July partyand fire works display. There are lots of diffrent bands and most of the Rhode Island Steel Guitar Assoc. steel players are there and all set up and playing with the band.It is one of the greatest 4th of Julys as far as the Steel players and country music is concerned.

If I decide to play, it will be here at home, but; my wife won't let me play loud enough for anyone to hear it! I was invited to play for free at a 4th. Picnic, but; I declined. I guess I've lost my sense of humor too!
