Folks,
I have been working in Odenton Md. for a few months now and I'm getting pretty tired of staying in my hotel room at night. Is there anyone out there working weeknights somewhere in this area? Since I can't get out to play myself right now I would like to at least get out and hear some steel....Thanks

Bo,
Thanks for the info, I just looked up on mapquest and you are right thats way up there. I'm down between Balt. and Wash. But who knows I may get desparate one night. I checked your schedule on your web site and I see you are there reguarly. By the way your link on your reply would not work. It's missing the letter "m" on .com.....

Gordy, the best in Maryland, Curry Coster, can be heard with this band here:
http://bobplunkert.com/appear.htm
Make him your first choice. Next in line would be this band,
http://jayhenley.com/appearances.htm , they are sorta around the Baltimore area.
I play the first Friday of every month here: http://austingrill.com at the Silver Spring location. They are opening up another location in Rockville, Md, we'll be there once a month but I'm not sure what night.

This band, http://brandystills.com/tour_dates.htm will sometimes get sorta close to the Baltimore area, well worth the drive where ever they play.

Hello Gordy,
See your from Lehigh Valley... ever go to Wally Heffner's jams in Hamburg? Occasionally go there from time to time but don't think I've met you but heard the name. Have some jobs in Maryland but they are all Sat. dates. July 7th Sharpsburg, Md, July 21st Westminster Md, .....maybe I'll get to hear you pick sometime. I'll second the earlier post about Curry Koster, great player and good guy.
Regards,
Wayne Wallett

Wayne,
Thanks for the info...Yes I get up to Wally's now and then. But I haven't been up to a jam for quite some time. Just too busy right now with my traveling. Wally's a good guy and full of lots on information. I hope some of the things you heard about me was good. Smile Last band I worked with was The Johnston Band from our area. Years ago was The Johnston Bros....Maybe you heard of us. My buddy's name is Wayne Johnston, it was his band. Excellent guitar picker and harmonica player.

Bo,

Yes, I will tell Wayne you said hello. I will see him the week of July 4th. We'll both at a common friends wedding. Curt, yes fine steel player, banjo and keyboards. Those guys really had their act toegther back in the day. Some great original tunes. We "The Johnston Band" hit the studio during our last year before the break up and we did some of Waynes songs. I think he has hundreds of them laying around the house. We both love that old country sound.

Gordy,
i found this in my files, not even sure what year it was, probably early to mid 90's.
I used to see the J Bros in Ambler and Glenside PA, & at a couple of clubs in NJ too. I was the DJ.
Notice the hair style on the bass player.. if I remembe

r correctly , the chick sang as good as she looked. Very Happy

Bo,
This is great....I'm going to have some fun with this. By the way, Wayne is recovering from surgery...He had some heart trouble a few months back. He is doing good, but we are all getting to that age. Actually I think Wayne and I are the same age.. I'll be 56 this year...
