Randal Smith became the 100TH. player to post a song on my web site. Rich Weiss just became the start of the second hundred this morning.-----that is if my blurry eyes haven't miscounted Confused

I am proud to be one of the players on your page. I just wish I could play as good as some of the others. Each one is great! Robert, the effort I have put out has given me the opportunity to meet and visit with folks like you. Folks don't have to be face to face to develope the kind of friendship we have develpoed with each other.
I an glad that I can call you FRIEND and I feel sure one day we will meet face to face and it will be just like a homecoming.

Many of the players have become "Pen-Pal" friends of mine and I am blessed abundantly that this has come into my life. b0b knows exactly what I am talking about ----- don't you b0b?

Charles. Friendship is something that is very special to me these days since it seems like people are at each others throat all the time any more. I'm certain that we will meet one day. If nothing else I guess I'll just have to pack a bag and my steel of course and head down that way. Maybe at a steel jam or something. Robert, you have a standing invitation to be our featured artist at the East Texas Steel Guitar Association monthly show in Tyler, Texas. I would love to stand and introduce you to the many fans that attend each month. It is every 3rd. Sunday at 1:30 P.M. Information and directions can be found at www.etsga.org. We have a featured artist every month. This month (on the 4th. Sunday due to Father's day) Aaron Marshall from Silsby, Texas will be our featured artist along with Travis Partain who will be our member artist.

First chance I've had to visit this fine site and what an experience.

I hadn't realized how great a steel guitar could sound without accompaniment. "Cherokee" by Mike McGee and "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" by Fred Justice certainly opened my eyes (and EARS!) to this wonderful listening experience.

Junior Knights' rendition of "Alright, I'll Sign The Papers"....was a wonderful look back into time and I recalled the first tune I'd ever heard Junior solo on and that was "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" from decades ago, played live in some club or hall. Fun to listen to and most enjoyable, to say the least.

Dick Wood's "Shadow of Your Smile" was great, as was Phil Bender's "E Maliu Maui".... Clean and tasteful, to be sure.

As always, Bill Stafford's "When I Dream" clearly defines just how versatil a steel guitar can be.

The one that really knocked my socks off, was Basil Henrique's "Swedish Rhapsody". What a performance!

With all of the players to choose from, there are many, many more fine artists on this fine web site but just can't listen to all of them at one sitting.
Drop in and give it a listen. You just can't go wrong with that much great talent to listen to.

The first version I recorded of Swedish Rhapsody was on my album Irish & Country Steel Guitar, but the quality wasn't good so I TRIED to re-create the original backing. I wasn't happy with the sustained G note on the D7th chord, BUT, it's in the original score ? .. Originally it was the Radio Telefis Eireann Concert Orchestra, but the version you heard was just me and me and me etc. I sequenced the backing and multitracked the acoustic guitars, dobro and steel.
