MS: DSSG Show Schedule of Players
Posted: 20 Jun 2007 4:11 pm
What a day we have in store on Sat. June 30th at the St. Martin's Community Center, St. Martin, Mississippi. I apologize in being so long in getting this schedule inserted- and if I have left anyone off, I hope to be notified immediately so I can rectify the status.
Show starts at 11:00 AM and with Rob Parker and Ben O'Dell's cracker-jack supervision, all will go on time. I will not list the times for each player. Each slot will be 30 min, unless specified as noted.
Hal Higgins will start, followed by Winston Street, Tony Lane, Jim Parker, Billy Carr, Royce Tarver, Danny Harrell, David Easley/David Anderson-45 min program, Herby Wallace, Mississippi Coast Jazz Society band featuring Hank Corwin-45 min program, Scott Perro (classical'jazz guitarist solo program), Hank Corwin & his country side, Terry Bethel, Randy Blackwell, Buck Grantham, Pee Wee Whitewing, R.J. Buras, Sera, Bert Couregge, Barney Miller, Ivan Reddington, Ken Henderson, Rob Parker, Jack Goodson, Bill Stafford, Bob Saxton and Hal Higgins-fini.
This will be one great day covering just about all the directiona a steel guitar player has to offer. Thanks to all for this wonderful support. (I am excited about Scott Perro and Bob Saxton knocking heads and musical ideas, and doubly excited about the Jazz Society being here to enjoy a great day of steel guitar music). We will have a full day of great players. Lots of good food, a cameo appearance of SERA Buras-just back from NY where the Sony Corp, gave her a very nice CD coming out celebration for her new project. I have heard this CD folks and it is so blasted good. Not only does SERA have complete control of her voice, her musical talents on piano leaves nothing to be desired. She can pen a song as good as Willie, and she is so much prettier too. Glad to have her in house. She and her Dad, R.J. Buras will have a display booth so we can pick up her new CD. (She will be in Nashville this coming week to do some additional writing and recording-one busy lady here). And all during the slack times of our schedule we will be royally entertained by a ten year old most talented Ms Cayla-Ann Kelton AKA Miss Mini Minnie Pearl. Cayla will give us a lot of those wonderful MinniePearlisms. And talking about giving, Cayla raises money all on her own to support the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. I would not be surprised if she had a booth at our show to do just that also. Thanks again to all for this wonderful family affair steel guitar event on the more beautiful than ever Mississippi Gulf Coast. Katrina did her best and do not be surprised if you hear "Storms Never Last".
And for those of you in our area, Hank C and I will be on a local talk radio show on Friday, 29 June-WTNI 1640 AM dial at 8 AM to talk about the show.
