Can I come out for a while?
Goes without saying, I'll be there.
Will there be a jam or just a meeting?
See ya..........Joel

Gary,
Looks like none of the brass is gonna chime in, so here goes:
You shoulda been there. Several PSG's, plus Gerald brought his cool T-8 and an 8-string lap that he built.
Thanks to Emery Dye and Gerald Cook for the vocals and to Bob Ferguson for providing the tasteful bass lines.
See you next time? ........ Joel

Hey guys, sorry for being so quiet lately. I had a family reunion to coordinate the day after the last meeting plus getting ready for the big 4th of July Ice Cream Festival in Tuttle. Although we had a small crowd at the meeting, we still had an enjoyable time. As Joel mentioned, we didn't really have a back up band but we still played to our hearts content We had some that were out of town, some that were injured(aka.Mr.President) and some that didn't feel like swimming to Tuttle We realize that everyone can't make every meeting and that's understandable. It's up to us(the members) to keep this club alive. I just enjoy the visit and listening to those that can make it. Gerald

Last meeting
I talked with Leroy Wood just before he was leaving town. He ask me if I had checked the web site latly as he did and it was not up. When I arrived last Sat. from the outside from Gearld singing and those who wanted to make it playing you would have thought there was a band! Gearld said it "it's up to us to make the club work. It takes commitment not to just paying dues but, to be willing to attend the meetings whenever they are scheduled. The Okla. Steel Guitar Club in Tulsa has this commitment from many of the best players in the area along with others that are not professional. The professional players have a commitment to helping anyway they can to further the PSG. It just seems like we do not have this in the Okla. City area. I think this was why the former club died. Does anyone know why OKC can not be as dedicated? I realize I have the least to offer as far as ability, however, the only way you get better in sports is playing with those who have more ability than you do. I think it applys to playing an instrument and for those who have more talent they also improve. Sorry to ramble I just want the club to thrive as it costs to much to make the drive to Tulsa like I did in the past. Wouldn't it be nice to look toward an OKC convention. Larry at Del City music has been wanting to have one for the last two years. I would be willing to make a visit with him along with anyone else to see if this could be a possibility. Let's do a lot of thinking befoe the next meeting.

We will be more on track for the July meeting. When a few folks can't make it to a small club meeting, it's a little more noticeable than a big club. These are just some growing pains that small clubs go through. So let's make July a great showing, and maybe the weather will co-operate a little!! HA!! Ya'll review the past few club seminars we did previously, and we will pick it up again 10 in the morning, then the jam. Bring your ideas to help the club grow--everyone's input is very welcome. We can do this, gang, sooooooo--hang tough! The coffee will be on!! YEEE HAWW!!
