Corky Owens....Great Job

I had the pleasure of hearing and visiting with Corky last night in Greenwood, Arkansas at their new performing arts center. Of course he was backing up Gene Watson and doing a super job of it to say the least. Corky has that rare ability to always play what fits the song they are doing at the time with great tone and style.
And what can you say about Gene Watson. I have always liked Gene's singing but I had no idea what a set of lungs he had. The old style country is not dead boys. It's alive and well at a Watson concert.
Corky says he has a laptop now so maybe he can get on the forum from time to time.
Thanks Corky for a great time, great music and a great meeting with you.

He is about as laid-back as they come. And his style is just killer. Where does he draw these fills from?
He had to study under one of the masters. Or, maybe it was from several of them.

Hey guy's. Thanks for the very nice words. I enjoy my time talking steel and meeting people. My first steel album was a Lloyd Green and my second was a Buddy Emmons. I just loved Lloyd's playing from day one and i don't need to say a word about Buddy. That's a given. I'm proud that some of there style comes out in my playing. Now if i could just understand that Tommy White and Paul Franklin! A little dry humor. Sorry guy's. Thanks again.
