I opened my latest edition of "Musical Merchandise Review," a trade magazine for retail music stores, and found a write up on "Super-Niche" Dealers, retailers who operated specialty stores with a limited focus. Featured in the story was our own Bobbe Seymour, owner of "Steel Guitar Nashville," a retail store devoted primarily to steel guitars.
Congratulations on this recognition, Bobbe. It is an interesting write up, and begins on page 34.
One customer incident Bobbe relates is when Mike Judge
(creator of Beavis and Butthead) came into the store and bought two steels and two amps, one for his home, one for the office. Shipping, no problem. He took them home in his private airplane.

Mike Judge is a very nice person and wonderful customer. Mike has bought many items from me. Many celebs are steel fans. Billy Bob Thorton, Johnny Depp, Mike Judge (also a player), and now one of the more suprising, "Larry the Cable Guy". The list is much longer than this but it's great to see that these folks we look at also like looking at us!
Now with steel guitar moving into many other types of music, I'm sure we'll have a lot more fans.
Also with the trend of younger guys playing steel now (and very well) there is no end in sight for this incrediblely beautiful musical instrument.
I my position at my steel guitar store, I have my finger on the pulse of the world industry. It is looking very positive for the future. This makes me very happy!

By the way, Bobbe... What has happened to "Bobbes Tips?" I haven't seen a new issue for quite a while. I really enjoy these informative bits with history of the pedal steel, players from the past and present, and information on new products for steel players. Give us some more! Thanks

Larry, they go out every Thursday, if you don't get them it's a problem on your end, I'll be very glad to resign you up but if your spam filter won't let them in, there is nothing I'll be able to do.
Your great friuend,
LeBobbster
