I just learned today that Jim Aycoth passed away last Sunday and was buried on Wednesday.

Many of us know Jim as the man that ran The Emmons Steel Guitar Co. when Ron Lashley Sr passed away.

Jim was also owner of Aycoth Machine Co. that manufactured and machined the metal parts (knee levers, changer fingers, end plates, key heads, and etc.) for the Emmons guitars.

Jim has had a long battle with kidney problems along with other problems, but was making good progress with all of this going on.

I know I will miss Jim, my thought and prayer go out to the Aycoth family. (Joann and the boys.)

That is really sad news. Jim took the Emmons company to new heights. The guitars built during his tenure were the greatest of the line. Quality control by the highest quality person.Go rest high on the mountain Jim...
