Bluegrass Music is alive and well in.......... ITALY !
A few days ago I found a CD in my post box sent to me by a fellow forumite, Fabio Bestetti.I thought:"Wow, some Italian steel playing".....but, then I noticed the CD Title.......'Back to Traditions' by 'The Mismountain Boys Bluegrass Band'.
Who are they ?......Well, let me tell you that I was totally blown away by what I heard. Using traditional instruments like 5 string Banjo, Dobro, Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar, Acoustic Bass, and Harmonica. The lead vocals are handled by Franco
Fanizzi, and he's doing a sterling job. The rest of the boys help out with the backing singing. (All in 'American' English

!). Boy, at first I thought that I was listening to a genuine American group and that someone was trying to take the micky out of me.
I really like the total acoustic sound of the group, and thought that our American friends would appreciate their efforts.
If you like traditional bluegrass playing you should really give this a listen to........no pro musicians there; just a bunch of guys having fun with music they enjoy doing.
Here are the titles;
1 How mountain girls can love
2 Jesse James
3 Wings of Angel
4 Worried man blues
5 John Henry
6 New River Train
7 Banks of Ohio
8 Wildwood Flower
9 Salty Dog
10 Blue Moon of Kentucky
11 Cripple Creek
12 Will the Circle be Unbroken

Thanks.
