John,
after Donna left Bill Anderson, she got married and as I understand, she is not doing a lot right now.
I hope she see's this and responds! I met her some years ago and she is a class act; besides being a super picker.
Let's us hear from you Donna.

Donna was real busy being a new Mom in late 2005 - that still may be taking up a lot of her time.

Donna was a real deal. A very sweet young lady, and a fine steel guitar picker. Sure miss seeing her and hearing her play. Jody.

Last time I saw Donna, she was at Russ & Laney's Fish Fry. She's a wonderful friend and she played some amazing steel!

Love ya, Donna!

I was one of Donna's pen-pals when she was a kid. Yes, she's married and has a daugher. After she left Bill, she returned to school, and compleated a degree in nursing. I believe she's a cardiac critical care nurse. The last time I heard from her, she wasn't doing any playing, but that may have changed since.

Hey, guys!

Well, it's nice to be remembered, and you all pretty much have your facts straight. I did go to nursing school and finished just in time to find out we were expecting our first (and only) baby. I always knew I didn't want to do a lot of traveling after I became a mom, so the nursing thing has worked out well. I did start out as a cardiac nurse, but I am now working as a labor & delivery nurse here in Nashville. I really enjoy nursing, but I do miss playing and seeing everyone. I'm really not doing much playing right now, but maybe that will change soon. Billy, maybe we can talk about a steel show date.

I'll try to attach a picture of our daughter so you all can see what's keeping me so busy these days. Her name is Kaylee, and she's 20 months old and quite the character.

Thanks for thinking about me!

Donna

P.S.--Ok, apparently I'm not smart enough to attach a picture, but maybe this link will work.

Donna,

Kaylee is a picture of you. I'm glad to hear that you're happy in your work as a nurse, and also glad to hear that you may be playing again sometime in the future.

Donna:

It's so nice to hear what you are doing nowadays. Just last week ago, someone came up to me and asked if I knew what you were doing, so the post is timely.

Sounds to me that you have quite a nice career in medicine, both rewarding and challenging. The best thing is, music will always there for you if you ever want to play it again and I’m sure you will. It’s like riding a bicycle, you never really loose the skill.. I burned out in 1963 and came back almost ten years later. This time I was in control of it so it didn’t wipe out my life. And in that time too, as with you, I became a parent which as you know, is a whole different adventure.

The best of luck to you and your family.

Ric
