Every one is unique and special, and I love them all. The hot young girlfriend is exciting, but the older wives whom I’ve been married to for decades (especially wife #1) fit so well and feel so right….

What’s a picker to do?

Wife #1

Wife #2

girlfriend

Perhaps Mike can get a starring role on Big Love on HBO-but once the viewers are onto the idea that the "wives" are steel guitars, I don't think the series will last...

All MSA's, perhaps Mike should move to Texas-who is that wacko with the compound and all the wives?

And some folks think all the crazies live in California-well-there's plenty to go around in other states!

I think lend me wife #2 to see if I can really ever fall in love.... I'd just keep her a year or so and cover her medical and food and lodging....

Let me know.... she is giving me the tingle! she's kind of the Jan Brady of the three....

I'll bet your hot girlfriend has less cabinet droop than your old wives, yes? Are any of them prone to fits of hysteresis? Rolling Eyes

Another one of Mike's old wives moved in with me.
I don't know if she's happier, but I am.
(Notice some of them are green with envy.)

Hey, everybody is someone else's ex.

Mike, just trade those three in on the new SUPERB EXCEL with the longest scale in the business. (Much more fun with extra inches).

Now my buddy Bill, your sweethearts are nice to, and i love taller ladies just fine, as long as you keep their hair short like the black sweetie who has her photo on scotty's site... Very Happy

You know, there is actually a serious point to all this. I love the Milly, and it;s going to be my performing guitar from now on, but the other day I played the green one for a while, and it was like coming home.

The older steels have been altered, tweaked, customized, and generally diddled with time and time again over the decades till they are both absolutely perfect. The Milly, as good as it is, has a very different feel, and although I've gotten used to it, I don't have that sense of familiarity with it that I have with the older guitars.

I recently spoke to another player who is in the exact same situation. He has his 'Bud that he's had for 20 plus years, and a new Carter. The back neck of the Carter has been altered and has a Marrs cat-can instead of the C6. The man uses the Carter (his girlfriend) on gigs, but like my older MSAs, the 'Bud is his wife.

Ouch... This is a very serious psychological disorder. Gearus Aquirus syndrome... Even in the harems the old gals had to be kept happy, else they would make life miserable for the NKOB's.
You don't know what they are doing when you are asleep!
Beware, that new girl is a serious siren...

I have a bit on the slide. She is a beauty.
Ignore the WD40 and the general clutter. June came home early and caught us at it and the strumpet has been banished to the spare room. That's the steel, not June. I value me bollocks!

Hey mike, i took your post light heartly, sometimes i wonder why fellas have so many dern steels. But the last one you had built is a beauty. She will come around and do just fine for ya mike, give'er a chance, and before you know it, she will seem like an old friend to. It's like a new car almost. But your new milly will grow right along with you mike.I would play your milly everytime you played. Keep the other two for old time sake, and of course play them once in a while. But in time, your new steel will fit just right for you. Stick with her mike, you two will do just fine. Arch Nicole, don't the folks at MSA make a great steel? when you told cass you were getting one, i knew it would be a great looking and playing guitar. Those folks at MSA are just great to work with, and make a fine fine guitar. I just can't say enough about Reece, and Johhny, and the boys. Those steels are beautys, of course, red steels do sound better.... Wink

Archie, your guitar is beautiful. Other considerations aside, the new Milly's are just gorgeous. Real Eye Candy.

George, I live in an incline, and have to climb up about 15 stairs to get from my house to the street, so I need 3 steels. one for the house, one for the studio in the basement, and one to keep in the garage at the bottom of the hill so I don't have to carry it up or down the stairs every time I play.

By all means, try to keep and maintain them all under one roof!!
BTW George Redmon espouses the fact that red steels just naturally sound better. That's cuz he's never heard the wailings of a 'black-and-blonde'!! When they're 'wailing', the sound is like no other. (Sorry, George, had to do that!!)
Get them all under one roof AND attend to their primal needs. . .no rocket science here!!! If you need help, just call!!
