Check your calendars folks, The Southern California Steel Guitar Association is holding its first meeting/jam at Sam Ash Music in Cerritos CA on May 12th and 13th.

If your steel company would like to be involved please let me know via e-mail. Im hoping Thom Beeman will be able to bring some seats out from steelseat.com
Bring your steel and your amp. If anyone can provide BIAB and projection that would be helpful.
Local Restraunts and Lodging are available - e-mail me for details.
This will be a Sam Ash Sponsored event so some amps and a full backline will be available if needed.
Please RSVP and send me an e-mail and let me know if you can make the trip out. Id like to get a feel for how many people will arrive.

MIke, sorry but will have to miss this one. Will be in Indianapolis for the Gospel Steel Show, then to Spokane for there show.
Maybe John McClung will bring his seat for all to see.
I know everyone will have a great time. Count us in for the next one.

Thom, you bet your boots my cool new pack-a-seat will be there!
I'm seeing if Tom Bradshaw can possibly get me another new Webb to bring, be happy to let anyone try it out. If not, my trusty vintage Webb will be there.

The lack of interest has forced me to turn this into a one-day event. Saturday, May 12th 11am-8pm.
This is an event sponsored by Radial DI boxes, Monster Cable, BIAB, Shubb, and of course Sam Ash Music so there will be plenty of giveaways and SCSGA member discounts.
Bring your steel and amp and lets jam! There will hopefully be a backing band since the BIAB and video projection fell through.

BOB HIGGINS AND RON GREENBERG HAVE AGREED TO PLAY BACKUP BAND FROM 11AM-8PM
Seeing as we have no BIAB projection.

Mike, I'm sorry I can't join this inaugural event, I'll be visiting my Mom for mother's day that weekend. But I sure want any other local steelers to join the fun and support a new way for us to get together, share music, share ideas and just have fun doing what we love to do.
I plan to be at the next one, barring other conflicts.
The Jackson guitars are really nice, this is a great chance to try one (and watch the tuning keys wiggle when you lower strings, that's a hoot!). And Dawn Jackson is as nice as they come, you'll enjoy meeting her.
