We have wrapped up another annual Rocky Mountain Steel Guitar Show. As always, it was great to hear the local and out-of-town players. Thanks to Dick and Lois Meis and to the Club for putting together this event. I love the variety of music and the different bands that come to perform on the show. We'll do it again next year: same time, same place.

I have to agree, what a variety. I had a great time. Thank You Dick and Louis and Scotty and everyone. I especially liked Buzz Evans, that guy it on master of the steel guitar. I love the pink panther he played. There were a lot of great sets there. The new G2 seemed to perform rather well. It sounded pretty good where I was standing. This was the first time one has been played out, it passed!. Great show guys, looking forward to next year.
P.S. A lot of great vocals too. |

I AGREE WHAT A GREAT SHOW!!!!
Linda and I had a GREAT TIME.
I would like to say a special thanks to 3 Great Steel players that asked me to sing with them on their sets.
1st off Scotty, we did "Way to Survive" and everyone was dazzled by the way the Scotty played his FryPan, he made that little thing sound like it had 3 pedals and 4 knee levers, WOW!!!!!!! it was Great. I wish that you all could have heard it. Talk about Bar Slants!!!!!! Doc Wayne Yakes was just blown away by the perfomance, It was a true honor to sing with Scotty, and hear him play.
2nd Del Mullen, this steel guitar legend needs NO introduction. I sang "I'm so afraid of losing you again" and then we ROCKED the house with a version of "Johnny B, Goode" Dick Meis played lead guitar and was Just Great and Del blew everyone away with his brand NEW G2 Mullen steel. It was also great to see the Mullen clan out, and especially Dixie Mullen she is getting better and better every day and I know that we have all prayed for her recovery, and let me say she is getting better and better day for day. Thank God.
And 3rd but definatly not last my friend Curt Shoemaker. Thanks so much for always asking me to sing on your shows. It is true honor for me. We did an old Charley Pride classic that I recorded with the Great Lloyd Green on my last CD, "Crystal Chandelliers" and Curt nailed the solo perfect, Lloyd you would have been proud!!!!!!! We also did an old Gene Watson song that I hope to record in the near future "Carmen". Shoe sounded great on his Mullen Steel, and he showcased lots of tunes off his new CD "Mega Steel".
Curt's better half Dixie came to the show also, it was great to see her, and Thanks Dixie for selling my CD's for me.
Buzz Evans came in from Las Vegas and did what Buzz does best, PLAY GREAT!!!!!! With lots of Class. It was great to have Buzz at this show. I only hope that we will be hearing him at some other shows again in the near future.
Chuck Lettes played his little Ricky FryPan Great, every time I hear him play I still can't believe that a person can get that kind of a Rich and Full Sound out of 6 strings and No Pedals. It was a Great Set!!!
George Sypert and Bob Case put on a Cool show and ended it with twin steels on "Crazy Arms". Great Job Guys!!!!
I also met a young steel player that just loves Real Country Music his 1st name is Casey and he played on the show too. You can tell the Neil Flanz influence on this young Man. Him and his group put on a Great Show.
All in All Dick and Lois Meis put on a Heck of a Show at the Grizzley Rose, so make your plans Now to attend next year the Sunday in May after Mother's Day.
See you all in St. Louis Labor Day Weekend!!!!
