Do any of you fellow steelers know what the value of a 1940--45 Alvarez Banjo in very good condition might be. My brother-n-law is looking at one and wants to know if it's worth the asking price.

With so little info, I can only give you a broad range of values...probably somewhere between $300 and $1800.

If I knew the type (5-string or tenor), model number, and other particulars, I might could do a little better! Wink

Hi Tony...don't know if this might help or not but I purchased an Alvarez Denver Bell 5- string banjo back about 1980 and it was brand new...I think I payed about $900.00 retail for it and it was well worth the money. John McGlothlin
