and more!!!! Friday May 4th, Old Point Bar in New Orleans

We are reprising the amazing New Orleans Musicians' Clinic benefit that we put on last year with the Campbells. Being the kind of folks they are, they have volunteered yet again to fly down here for free to help out the NOMC (the premier organization for helping NOLA musicians for 9 years now) and let me indulge my fantasy of mixing Sacred Steel and New Orleans music. Last year's gig was unreal, with Kirk Joseph (the king of the funky sousaphone and founding member of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band), 3 other great horns, lots of killer singers and even Dave Easley on steel. All this in a tiny little woody bar with a max capacity of 200! Chuck Campbell recorded the show and the record should be available soon. A whole new project called Sacred Funk has evolved from that night.

This year we have the incredible Walter "Wolfman" Washington joining the Campbells, as well as Kirk Joseph and several other horns, Shannon McNally, Arlee Leonard, Lynn Drury, and more great singers. Should be a HUGE throwdown. Walter is one of the most soulful, spiritual performers out there and pure New Orleans to the core. One of the best blues/R&B guitar players alive, a truly transcendent singer, and a better definition of "funky" than Webster's could ever come up with! I can't wait to hear what this sounds like, and I hope to see some of you steel heads there!

For tickets and for info on the record we made last year, you can e-mail me. There should also be a PayPal link on my website - www.marcstonemusic.com - by the middle of this week. Thanks everybody!

Yeah you rite about Walter-he takes it to church no matter what he's singing or playing. He can funk you into bad health. I've known him and the Roadmasters for a good while-a Wolfman show is always a special occasion.

Bump for this.

I'm going to be there as well, looking forward to playing with the Campbell Brothers!
