The owner told me it has 1.5" shoes and the newspapers inside dated it to 1949.

I have never seen this model.

The single neck model is identical to the guitar which Gordon Freitas recently acquired. Gordon, (of Waikiki for those of you who are unfamiliar with the name), is a highly talented and really nice guy. He blows me away with the stuff he pulls off on that old single neck 6 string Rickenbacker !
