I hadn't listened to this in a very long time, so I played it a couple of days ago, and again yesterday, and again today. Basically it's the instrumental beds of many of the Beatles' hits with the steel replacing the vocals.
Man what a terrific CD this is. We forget, because it's around 10 years old, but Joe really hit the ball out of the park on this one.
I hope that those of you who have been unaware of this excellent CD will buy a copy. If you're a Beatles fan, you'll love it. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Thanks for re-listening to and enjoying "Steelin' The Beatles," Mike. You've always been very supportive.
The Beatles are a no brainer for steel instrumentals, because they're so melodic. I've got two of their tunes (I Feel Fine, Because) and a George Harrison tune (Isn't It A Pity) on my latest album, "Seducing The 60's." George was also one of the most innovative slide players, so it's not much of a stretch to play some of his tunes. I'd guess that the most recorded pop artists by steelers are the Beatles and Beach Boys, because the lush, melodic tunes lend themselves so well to the steel.
