By the way, I just have to congratulate Mark Vinbury on his Dynalap. I've just bought a six-string, and I've been playing it for several days now. I can't stop!
Lots of sustain, plenty of tone control.
Beautiful woods and brass parts to make it sound good.
This is the first 'real' steel I've had, and I can't say enough about how happy I am.
Kudos, Mark, and apologies for the unsolicited commercial, but I love this thing!

Charlie--Many thanks for the kind words and glad your enjoying it.
This might be a good place to post a couple pics of recently completed 8 strings.
The maple one is a sort of bare bones, travel steel for a touring multi instrumentalist. No controls (he uses a vol. pedal and effects).I didn't get a chance to string it up but it should be a powerfull item.
The other is a prototype that has been kicking around the shop because I wasn't thrilled about the shape.I decided to finish it to see how I liked the wood.
It is Jatoba, a dense hardwood also called Brazilian Cherry. So far( a couple days ) I like it.Very heavy and great sustain. I've used it some in cabinetry. It looks nice and is low priced. We'll see.
