A new steel forum mainly for scandinavian pickers is up at http://steelgitarr.forum24.se/steelgitarr.html
All forumites are very welcome, of course, but you might have problems reading if you don't take a crash course in swedish, norwegian or danish (look below for a sample). However, you can always post in english.

Hdg!
(Ha de gött!)

There was once, a great video by a couple of our good friends, from up there, here on this forum. I believe they had picked up some ideas from Jimmy Crawford, and were doing some fantastic open string stuff. I remember during one scene a string broke. Anyone else remember these talented musicians? I would love to see that one again.

Hi Charles.

The "two friends from up there" were two Norwegians, - Egil Skjelnes and Dag Wolf. They had this steel video made based upon an instrumental that Egil wrote called "Bar Dancing."
Egil had this video put on the Forum not too long ago.

Walter - your question is good, actually.
I don't think that there is a good translation for bump (up) in swedish. Americans are world champions on inventing new words, and we have great difficulties in keeping up. To translate the old and well established linguistical concept "bump into" is easy, but not the new "bump up (a topic)".
To call it "bumpa upp" will be too close to "pumpa upp", wich means pump up (inflate).
What's bump up called in german, BTW?

This is an interesting question, no doubt.

Aufpumpen, hehe!
Now, that's even better than all the über- compounds that has been fairly common in american english recently. From now on I'll write aufpumpen instead of bump!
