I want to retune my A to A6. The 4th string is .030 for E. Can this string go to F# w/0 breaking? This way I can switch over easily to A6 using the top 4 strings, F#,A,C#,E. I use my second neck on the Fender D-6 for A/Am. I can always just change that string to .027/.028 so it can do both E and F#.
Thanks, Ron

Ron, I'm sure it will make the stretch. It might feel a little tight.
Just be careful with those ol' tuners, you know how they are.
A .027 or .028 would be a good compromise solution.
