I've been messing with the famous Herb F#13(F#high,D#high,F#,Bb,E,G#,C#,E) tuning for about 3 days and finally today the half burned out light bulb started flickering. There are some lovely chord voicings(minor 9th,Dom 13)and it makes a I-vi-ii-V progression quite handy. It still is baffling though.
Does anyone know of any recordings that have this tuning and can anyone shed more light?

Thanks!

See topic-3 classic Remington Tunes. Or you could email Herb through his web site. Or you could contact Rick A.

Herb Remington's classic albums REMINGTON RIDES AGAIN and STEEL GUITAR HOLIDAY
both use F#13 tuning, as well as A6 and E13.

The topic Edward is referring to is here.

Didn't Joaquin Murphey use a version of this tuning on one of his necks? How did his version go? I think I saw it in Mr. Volk's book. But currently I'm suffering from the burdens of book loanership.

Speedy West used it - Herb Remington gave it to him.
The way the story goes, it was that tuning that got Speedy his Capitol Recording contract.

I think Jeremy Wakefield uses it as well. I have the, "Steel Guitar Caviar," CD. And it is quite good.
